I’ve been out of touch…

by Laura

It’s been a busy few months, so accept my apologies for not getting this newsletter to you twice a month as I usually do.

We have gained some amazing clients in these past few months.  A public figure who is doing big things in politics as well as one of the ten top internet marketers I would say world wide are now clients.

Unfortunately due to their high profile status., I cannot tell you who these people are, but you can check out what we’ve done so far for one of them on our case study page here.

Why Social Media Might Be More Important than Google..

by Laura

I‘m not sure if you missed this or not but about six weeks ago Facebook changed its designation of fan pages and they are now just called “pages” If you are so inclined you can quote unquote “like them.” Not only that, Facebook overtook Google is the
number one website worldwide.

Concurrently to this change, Facebook also opened up their like button to websites around the world with their Open Graph protocol. This has huge implications if you realize the power of the viral nature of such a button.

First of all, if you visit a page that has the like button on it and one of your friends has clicked that
they like it, their picture will show up for you to see. You no longer have to click the share button or do anything other than click like in order for you you like
that page and for it to show up on your news stream on Facebook.

In practical terms, you could visit a page, like it, and
then let’s say you have 700 friends. Your 700 friends will also see that you liked that page. Then let’s assume 10 of those people visit the page and like
it. Let’s assume that each of those people also have several hundred friends who then would see
through their Facebook news stream that another one of their friends liked that webpage.
It’s simple. It’s viral. And it scares the hell out of Google.

Even though Google has introduced social search,
real-time search and even Google Buzz, it still doesn’t have the impact of the viral nature of the
new Facebook like button and the new Facebook Like Box.

Then there is the Friendpile plug-in that shows
pictures of the users friends who have already signed up at that site. In one full swoop Facebook has proliferated a huge percentage of the Internet
in a way that no other website has.

I’d love to hear from you what you think about this?

Oh, and if you’re reading this on the Yada Yada Marketing site, do feel free to click the like button above and below this. 🙂

Until Next Week!
